About

Hi there! I'm Christopher State, a UX/UI Designer and Accessibility Specialist with a passion for creating digital solutions that make a difference. 👋

🔥 My journey is fueled by a burning desire to blend user-centered design with cutting-edge technology. From leading accessibility initiatives at SJ, Sweden's largest train operator, to enhancing user experiences for retailers of ICA, one of Sweden's biggest grocery chains, I've dedicated my career to making digital spaces more intuitive, efficient, and inclusive.

When I'm not designing, you might find me running marathons or exploring the synergies between AI and accessibility. Let's collaborate and create some UX magic that makes a real, lasting impact! 🌟

Cartina Kickoff

From building rafts to mastering survival skills on Adventure Island with Cartina, I discovered that curiosity, teamwork, and stepping out of my comfort zone are essential ingredients for both personal growth and professional innovation.

Stockholm Marathon 2024

Completed challenging marathon in 27°C heat. Struggled at 30km+ but crowd support helped. Slowed down but cheers from the crowd gave me energy to finish strong. Runners high is real! 🏅 😍

My Summer with Looker Studio

🚀 Working remotely offers incredible flexibility, especially with a view like that! This summer, I immersed myself in mastering Looker Studio, a tool that transforms data into customizable, easy-to-read reports and dashboards. My exploration took place in the serene setting of Tranholmen, courtesy of a friend's hospitality.

Optimizing UX Design with User Studies at ICA Stores

My colleagues and I, responsible for the UX Design of the new intranet platform, conducted several study visits to various ICA stores, notably at ICA Maxi Västerås, to gain a deeper understanding of user needs—a critical aspect of our user testing process. These experiences were invaluable, significantly enriching our knowledge and providing us with profound insights that will influence our careers and enhance our approach to developing effective digital solutions.

Advancing healthcare AI and Accessibility at Doctrin

In 2020, I completed my master's thesis at Doctrin, focusing on integrating Conversational AI in digital healthcare to improve patient-doctor interactions. Post-thesis, I joined Doctrin as a Web Accessibility Engineer, where I was instrumental in enhancing the platform's accessibility, aligning with the accessibility directive. My role included developing a new component library in Storybook using React.js/Typescript, analyzing accessibility requirements, and creating a checklist to ensure WCAG compliance.
